Can you help me find a great book?

Sorry boys and girls, this blog is definitely for your parents! But I promise it will be worth it. As you know, our school library is smaller than most. There are so many wonderful children’s books available today that I cannot introduce to your children.
However, what I can do is share some wonderful sites that you can peruse and get some recommendations for books your child might read. The Children’s Book Council is a very informative website. It offers different lists of children’s books including award winning books and what’s newly published. The only problem I’ve found with this website is that I lose track of time when I visit. There is so much material available and it’s constantly updated.
I’d like to share another website, that is geared towards boys. If you are a girl, or her mom or dad, please, don’t be offended! According to experts in the field, boys and girls have similar reading tastes until around 9-years old when they start to differ (Short, Lynch-Brown, & Tomlinson, 2018, pg. 13). Let’s face it; sometimes our children can be unenthusiastic readers. With this in mind, I want to share with you a website that can help you find books to help keep your son interested in reading. PBS Parents has lists of books that are sure to intrigue your child. If your son loves to read or would rather be doing anything else, you will find books here that he is sure to like. Please visit my parent resource page for the links to these websites.
